drumroll please

I'm so excited to share my first major wedding project! Last week I sent some very important cards through the mail to my beautiful bridesmaids. Now that they all have them in hand, it is time to reveal what I sent. I think I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves:

My idea was adapted from Anna Bond's (Rifle Paper Co.) DIY Bridesmaids Cards featured on Once Wed. What do you think? Did you do something special to ask your girls to be in the bridal party?

  3. totally cute! i saw the original post on the other blog and you definitely did it justice! quick question, did you use a calligrapher to write the names or is that your handwriting. So beautiful.... I'm working on my this weekend but I don't write in cursive.

  4. Thanks so much everyone for the compliments! Nkechi, I actually used the font Memoir (purchased here). If you don't want to spend money on a font, you can find some great free ones from websites like fontsquirrel.com and dafont.com. I'll put up a post today explaining a little trick I used to get the names on the dolls to match the font I used on the cards/belly bands/envelopes.

  5. Thanks for the info Heather! So I live in NY and I've been running around to craft stores (like a semi-crazy lady) looking for the right paper for this. I got a bunch of posterboard but it's too thick. What did you use please? I had no clue that you responded so quickly. I'll keep signing on all day to check for your response :) oh my email is nolisemeka@gmail.com if this helps!

  6. So as a newly engaged gal, I've only just stumbled across this post, as I've tumbled face first into the wonderful world of wedding blogs! I was wondering whether you had created a template at all while making these lovely ladies? My girls would LOVE something like this, and I started to give it a shot but as a non-drawer, I'm struggling...

FanTAStic job btw!!! They look stunning!!

  8. I am in LOVE with these!!! I hate to ask, but would you mind sending me the template also? I'm not a very crafty person, but hoping I can pull this one off just because I love it so much!

  10. Hey Heather!
Sooooo they worked out brilliantly!!! I handed them out to my ladies last weekend and they adored them :)
I've also started my own blog at the insistence of my MOH, since I keep finding so many ideas and bombarding her with them. I'm having a lot of fun and think it will be a great record of the process...
Point is, in a couple of posts I'll be adding pictures of my project, in case you wanted to have a look, and hope to add a link to this post as a source, if that's ok?
    Thanks!
    -Amanda

  12. Hi heather,

I know you posted this forever ago, but I just got engaged and have been scouring the internet looking for a fun way to ask my bridesmaids. I first saw the post on Oncewed and then went in search for a template, since I can't draw to save my life. Any chance you still have that template saved and would be willing to share? :)

  14. I just made these last week after seeing them on oncewed. They turned out cute, but I love how you did the hair on yours!!! Girls, you don't have to be talented to make these, I promise! Even if they aren't perfect, they're still super cute.
